well i won the header, for a total of $116.99. How would i go about enlarging that exit flange? and ive never installed headers before, how long would it take? i have access to a full auto shop. i guess for 116.99 i got a pretty good deal.

You'll see it when you get it. It's a pretty thick flange, so it'll be a lot of work, but something as simple as a hand Dremel-type tool would work. Just don't chew away so much that you compromise the tubing wall or the welds.

You'll see what I mean when you get it. - GA

5S FE Headers

I do not have the factory exhaust anymore, so I will have to wait until they send me the new b-pipe with an 02 sensor in it to be able to test them.

If someone who lives in or around Charlotte wants to come by and let me use their factory for a tester I'd be willing to let them have the origional header (they just sent me a second one to take pictures of before starting so it's all shiny) for $50? I'll even throw in the factory drop-in K&N filter so we can be as close to my base numbers as possible. One heck of a deal if you wanna help out. And I'll pay for the dyno becuase they're reimbusing me. It has to be 100 percent stock 5sfe (with recent tune up: plug wire ect.) becuase I already have the base from mine to use.

Heres the pics:

This is the kind of headers I am looking for 4-2-1. Are this from SSAutochrome?

Unless your bolting on the box, the headers are not the SSautochrome headers. I bought the SSautochrome headers about 7 months ago and that's definitely not them in the picture.

The SSautochromes I received are a short tube design 4 into 1. The flange needed significant grinding at the exhaust ports for a good match on 2 cylinders. The intermediate pipe (B pipe) outlet flange opening was about 1/2 inch smaller than the tubing inner diameter requiring more grinding.

The B pipe tubing was inserted into the flex joint several inches creating a "step" to impede exhaust flow downstream. The only way to fix it would be to cut the tubing at the flex flange, remove the inserted pipe section and reweld the works.

The header in the pictures is a 4-2-1 design. Maybe SSautochrome is making them now. I'd definitely want to see the B pipe beforehand.

Too bad they didn't have them when I bought mine. I sure hope they improved quality control since mine.

I've picked up a set of used long tube hotshot headers recently and the quality control is much better.

Read more, post less. As Tom said they are making a 4-2-1 design. Don't join a board slinging around a gun with no bullets genius...

No. I SAID read more post less, I read the thread where they were producing a 4-2-1 header so I knew it was ssac... SORRY FOR NO EXPLAINING IT BETTER!!

Bottom line, it's a ssautochrome header, stop trying to derail the thread to make fun of me.

edited.... for my infraction??

I just realized something.......

This thread is the thread where I read about ssac's 4-2-1 design. Page 2 to be exact.........

The new header I am not sure who made it, but ssautochrome sent it to me. It's all equal lenth tubing with a 4 into 2 into 1 design. It will fit the factory 5sfe muffler, but not their 3" exhaust. The 02 sensor location is in the third piece of the b-pipe which fits the factory muffler, but like I said not the 3" exhaust they sell. I am working with them to correct this issue and will once again hace to have a custom b-pipe made to send to them to get a finished product. I feel good that they will make larger increases that the other 9.7 hp which was great already.

Did I offend the posting police? I can only relate my personal experience with the manufacturer asked about. If they are making something new now, more power to them.

It's not you, it's him, so just ignore what he posts. I mean afterall, how can he be responsible for the personality disorders of every single person he comes in contact with? It's everyone else that's messed up, not him.
