Calling all 5sfte'ers...

Is the pic below a good place for the oil lines 5s turbo application...if so what is the thread? I have seen on other forums that it is BSP tapered. If so can I get a BSP to 3AN fitting?

On my setup, I used a T-fitting plugged into the stock oil pressure hole in the head. I used a hose fitting to run oil from the T to the turbo, and another to run oil to an aftermarket sending unit.

David at TwoRUs sells an adapter that sandwiches between the block and oil cooler or between the cooler and filter (not sure which), and has two holes already setup to run oil from. If I hadn't already gotten everything working, I would have used that method. Not that there's anything wrong with my method--I have no pressure problems--but finding the correct adapters is a pain and I ended up re-tapping the threads to make the 3AN fitting work.

Click here. It's under "gauges", since you use it to connect gauges. I guess. I didn't realize it's also $38, so depending on your budget that may be a lot of money.

Isn't that for coolant? A drain plug to get coolant out of the block?

If $38 is a lot of money than a 5sfte project probably isn't something you should be getting involved in.

It is compared to a handful of fittings...but if it solves my issues with out me having to fabricate something....well thats priceless! Im also looking into rebuilding a ct26, which if I do it costs 150 plus the core expense, or closer to 400 if they do it, which honestly might be worth it since I have never rebuilt one. I want to do a water to air intercooler system of a st185 and st205 which are also pricey...so 38 dollars looks like it might be nothing, but since I just spent 350 on new 5sfe that still isnt put back together in the garage (hope to get that done this weekend) Ill save where I can save for making sure its done correctly...

The forum that came from was in reference to the oil lines, but that does look more like a coolant plug now that I think about it...

I havent a clue if that is oil or coolant... I do have a question though... What size bolts are you using on the engine stand to hold the engine in place?

I said that in relation to a couple $1 fittings, and a $30 difference stacks up to quite a lot over time.

Try using motor mount through bolts.
