Idling Problem, Please Help

I'm having issues with my 92 NA, everytime I push the clutch in the SOB starts to Idle @ 2000 to 2500 rpm. To get it to stop I need to Rev it up and then it goes down to where it should be between 800 and 1100rpm. What is the problem and how can i fix this?? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. AdvTHXance.

Okay, first, calling your car an SOB will get you no where. Be nice.

Sounds like it could be the throttle position sensor, maybe. There are many other things. What condition are your ignition components in (plugs, wires, cap, rotor, timing)? HERE is an online repair manual, if you don't own one. You can use it to troubleshoot the issue further.

So let me get this straight. Your car will be idling at 800 rpm, you put the clutch in and it revs up to ~2000 rpm then if you goose the gas it'll come back down again?

The clutch position should make absolutely zero difference to how the car is idling. This is more than a bit odd.

Something else I forgot to mention (and it's usually the first thing I suggest), have you checked to see if you have any error codes? If you don't know how, directions can be found HERE.
