unplugging injector to pass emissions?

I live in Memphis, Tn and my duece has failed emissions the past 3 times in a row. It passes the hydrocarbon test but always fails the carbon monoxide portion of the test. I have installed a new cat and also tried that "emissions pass" fuel additive. I don't have the money for a mechanic right now, so it's basically up to me to fix it. I have heard of unplugging an injector to pass emissions but don't know much about it. How many of ya'll have tried this trick? Which injector is best to unplug and is it to be unplugged while waiting to be tested or can I do it before I head to the testing center? Thanks, Isaac

I wouldnt unplug an injector and run the car at all. I dont know if its bad for it, or if its just fine, but I wouldnt do it. Its gonna run like sh*t

Unplugging and injector will cause a misfire.

I live in Florida and we no longer have inspections but when we did my MR2 failed everytime. This may sound crazy I thought it was when someone suggested it to me but it worked for me everytime buy a quart of denatured alcohol and dump about half in just before you go and for a short time it will run super clean but it doesnt last very long so don't drive around to long. I know someone will disagree with this but it worked for me and i never noticed any long term problems car always ran great before and after. Fuel has to be at about 1/4 tank.

I meant that it fails the hydrocarbons and passes the CO. My numbers for hydrocarbons were 413.48 and the limit is 220. And for CO, my numbers were .88 and the limit is 1.20
I went ahead and replaced my o2 sensor tonight because it was completely covered in carbon. I'm going to run it through again tomorrow and let you guys know how it goes!

is that idle reading? high hc with lower co is generally a condition of overly rich mixture. O2 is a possibility. If that's the correct reading after the convertor at normal operating temps.
