Well not necessarily you do have to hammer some of the metal in the back to have the center garnish fit on the pre 94 models. Its possible to do so without cracking the paint but pretty tough.. I ended up cracking my paint but since its covered by the garnish it's not visible.

you only need to hit the center only if you plan on using oem stock reverse lights. when i bought my set it didnt come with reverse lights was like 100$ for the tail lights and a cf middle. and so i just made my own ghetto reverse lights and haha there ya go =P right now i'm trying to do a 94/with 93 center and route reverse lights down by the license plate like a corvette

they bolt right in and fit beautifully, just use a hammer to create enough room for the 94 center panel. some people would suggest using a rubber mallet, but if you don't care that people are never going to see the chipped paint behind your center panel, use a hammer. the damage is actually very minimal. make sure to keep your old bulbs and your wiring harness though, you'll need them.

if i remember correctly the 94 light harness is much brighter than the 91-93 harness even though the 93 seem like they don't fit in the 94 move it around cause they will fit in there...

^ wrong! I just had to buy a 91-93 light harness. They will fit if you cut some of the plastic. It would be a waste of time, so I bought the CORRECT harness

Wrong... I didn't cut anything on my 94 tail lights housing and I used the harness from my 93... Just cause you didn't figure it out doesn't mean it doesn't work lol. Either way it just takes a little figuring out and you'll get them to go in snuggly. Once you get the first one in you'll know what it takes to get the rest in quicker... well at least that is what happened when I did it.

uhhh then a bunch of us on this forum seem to not have the harness that will fit our 94 tail lights..... like midnight said you have to move the harness around near the socket to put it in. There's no cutting involved.

BEN and I tried, although it was close, it wasn't close enough, forcing me to either mod or get the correct one, so I did. And why would they have TWO different harnesses if they weren't different??

uhhh i didn't say they were exactly the same harnesses. 94+ are brighter and have placement for the reverse bulbs compared to the 91-93 which are dimmer for the older tail lights. I'm just making the statement that they will fit, the 91-93 harness in 94+ housing. with no cutting and modding and they are snugged in.

Yeah, I cut it out with a dremel tool. But I didn't even bondo it. I was going to but got too lazy and you can't really tell they have been cut. Still looks great and different. And I did use my stock 91 harness, it just took some manuvering to get it to fit.

I'll try and take one tomorrow if it's nice out. I just put the new lights up against the center panel and trace it with a pencil. Then dremeled it out accordingly. It only took me like 30 minutes to do. The guy who sold me the lights had a write up on his sight, but my hard drive has crashed since then and I don't have it anymore. Sorry.

I had to do a bit of rewiring of the harness but the tail light fit was good. A relatively easy project IMHO. I replaced the center plate and lock assembly so there was no gaping hole. I like the newer look.
