1995 MR2 "club edition" N/A

I met a guy this weekend in Austin who had a red MR2. ("gabedrag" on the forums). He told me it was a '95 N/A "club edition" or maybe "club racer edition" or something like that, and that there were only 3 in the country. It apparently was a bit lighter than the normal MR2, had no A/C, etc. I did some searching but didn't find any reference to this, but it does sound familiar, like I've seen a mention of it before. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I'd love to get specs on this "club edition". thanks

No Toyota literature that I've read suggests that there was a special edition with that name.

It indeed would be a fairly rare car, but an estimate of only three seems pretty agressive, in my opinion.

put your waders on fellas!
jk.. there were mr2s made that had no power options and no abs and no ac, and were hard tops that rolly as light as they come. but a cr edition sounds kinda far. now i know this for sure my GTI was one of 300or so made of the mk3 model run(and when you think of how many 92-99.5 golfs are on the road and were made thats a low low low #.). ive had it comfirmed , it had serveral extremly rare options. i cant find replacement parts for them.
im interested about this CR though. i will look it up on a parts system at work they have every interchange and models ever made for any car. (specils editions, mid year changes, and etc,)
but i doubt it. ask him what light weight options he had?
you could do a CR on your car.. , cut it up and let us know .. im only kidding

Right, it was a hardtop too, which is pretty rare, especially a '95 hardtop. I don't remember the other options. He said no A/C, but I didn't ask about ABS or other power options.

Hardtops are only rare in the States. They are quite plentiful in other markets.
