Headers and Passing Emmissions

I really want to get these headers for my 5sfe: eBay Motors: 91-95 MR2 Headers 18-20 HP Super 5SFE 4-1 Design (item 150254628510 end time Jun-09-08 16:16:08 PDT)

My question is, will I still pass emmissions if I put these on? By the way, the rest of my exhaust system is completely stock (but that will change in the near future

headers are illegal in all 50 states.. its really just a matter if your state actually enforces the law.

I thought Florida was a free for all state, seeing as there is no emissions testing at all.

I live in Texas. Just thought you might like to know, I put headers on my prelude and it passed emmissions just fine. But MR2s are new to me, so I was wasn't sure if headers would keep it from passing.

Does TX have visual like CA? If it is tail pipe only, there is a chance you can pass if the motor is running very clean.....

since the cat is built right at the end of the comically short stock header and there isn't anything else downstream its going to take some engineering

not impossible though if its tail-pipe test only though

I dunno about putting the cat on the header itself, but the other piece looks like it would work.

You couldn't use the stock cat for that. The opening is like 5 inches wide.

I didn't think you had to take your car for emmission if it was a 96 or older

That will vary depending on which state you're on.

Ya, in Texas I had to get my 92 prelude to pass, which cost me a new cat and muffler.
