Putting in the 100 amp won't hurt anything

Be sure to order from someone that knows what you are putting it in. I ordered a 100 amp from autozone didn't fit properly then didn't even work properly. When I took it back they tested it and said it worked find. Told them it didn't work in the car and I wanted my money back. After which I took it to a shop that rebuilds alt and starters and had it rebuilt. Actually saved $60 over auto zone.

Put the correct alternator in your car. The brackets are different. Or do a make-shift install, or find the proper bracket if you decide to change.
