Could a radio display left on be enough to drain a battery over 3 days?

The radio is in locked mode becsuse of security reasons. It won't turn off, their is no features running, just the display lights with the power on. Could this be the reason my battery runs flat after 3 days?

Actually, I just jump started it. When I put the positive lead on the other car there was a lot of sparks. Is that a sign of something draining? 5 mins after the jump start (after charging the batery) I started the engine again, it was completely drained. Do you think this needs a new battery or is it being drained by something. What could complety drain it in 5 mins?

Try another battery. It's probably shot and not holding a charge though you can test to make sure your alternator is charging it as well.

If it's not the battery is the alternator.

Well I know it has happened to me. Back when I owned a Honda and I put my first radio in I wired it directly into the battery so it could run without a key in the car. The car would be fine for overnight but during weekends it would drain it dead, and the only part of the radio that was on was the power button. But it could have been a bad battery as well.

If your alternator is bad, there are lots of things that could, the power steering, your radio, your radiator fan, dash lights. If your battery is getting drained in 5 mins and your battery is not that old. It's definitely your alternator that's not charging the battery

Found out it isn't the battery. We are going to look at the alternator tomorrow. It's like looking for a needle in a haystack
