wondering

on my 91' na, theres a plastic guard under it... it this plastic guard important to keep or replace? mines kinda busted up, and im thinking of just taking itoff

That plastic under the car is so no rocks bounce up into your engine or other parts

Its suppose to be busted up from years of abuse but you SHOULD keep it so nothing gets in there, you don't have to replace it but you also don't have to remove it

It's not just rocks, it also keeps water off to an extent so things don't rust as quickly. I would also be willing to lay odds that it also ends up acting like an undertray for aero purposes also.
