lol no... i joined the air national guard. i thought about being active duty and being a pilot but i decided not to... figured the guard was a better choice for right now. i did really well on my ASVAB though which qualified me for any carreer field i wanted. i chose automotive maintenence though because working on cars is where my heart is. i may switch over to working on planes later but its just a thought...lol

That sounds sweet,

Planes have long been my passion, it's just that it's so much more money to go flying than to go driving, so ya...

If i could be an air force pilot, thats what i'd do, but i'm not totally into the whole military thing, mainly because i'd never end up as a pilot.

The problem is getting a job, i was thinking of doing a student loan and going to be a helicopter pilot, but then i looked at the job stability and it's just not worth it. And looking at the economy it's probably a good thing i didn't, i have an uncle or something (i dont' remember how we're related) who's flying helicopter and has been quite a few years, and he was at the point where he had enough hours that if he left one job he could find another right away and even he got laid off!

I was involved in air cadets locally, it's a youth group kind of sponsored by the military, and i got my private pilots license with them because they have a program to do that.

I worked my ass off to get there, and once i was there i worked my ass off to not get dropped from the course (it's only seven weeks, and if you totally fail at flying you get dropped )

Anyways i finished, and then i was flying like once or twice since, and then just haven't had the money, mainly because it cost so much, and i look at that money and think, well, i could do this to my car...

But the amount of work i did to get there and do it was so worth it, even just for the experience of flying around the east coast vancouver island

One of my friends is going to basic training in Texas for 2 months in about a week, he's a super white skinny guy named Tommy, it'll be funny if you run into him there since he's going to the Air Force (but he wants to work in planes and drive them)

Dude...good for you. I'm glad you were able to figure something out. That's awesome that you'll be in Southern California eventually. It's a great place to live...you're gonna love it.
