IM BACK :) and i need parts/advice!

hey all... its been a LONG time since ive been on here... ive been crazy busy with school and all the other "fun" stuff. i finally got the two inspected last week but now its sitting after my brakes decided to act up again... i think i might need new calipers... after a little bit of driving thay start to like lock up and they will get worse and worse until i cant even move my car any more because they tightened the hell out of them selves... the wierd part is, is that if i let it sit for a couple hours the brakes will slowly release and i can continue driving for a while (until they tighten again) any help/suggestions?
--also im still desperate for some new door switches for my windows/mirrors/locks. i think i need the rest of the window systems too like the tracks and motors. Anyone?
--and finally what could be wrong with my running/guage lights? its not a fuse and i dont think its the switch... the guage lights and running lights are controlled by the same line though but like i said...the fuse is not the problem... my headlights and brakelights blinkers and reverse lights work so it must be that wire or somethin that controls the line for the running lights and guage lights. once again... any help?

Braking systems just aren't that mysterious. If your brakes are dragging after you've released pedal pressure then the sliders aren't letting the calipers open back up as they're supposed to. Have you tried just lubing up the sliders?

Without the motors and window regulator the glass wouldn't stay up so you know that they're at least present. If you want to see if the motors are working you can apply current directly to them to run them up and down. Have you looked in the rubber boot running from the driver side door to the chassis to make sure that it's not just the wiring harness getting corroded?

what exactly is the slider? is that the cylinder in the calipr?

and guess what? i just pulled the door panel off... and found a wonderful suprise... my window is being held up by little loops of wire from a metal coat-hangar.... but i just checked the wires and they look ok. the switches are definately fried though... they are nice and black inside lol and i thought it was just a fuse at first when i bought the car...

The sliders are what the outside half of the caliper move in and out on. There are two on each caliper and the bits not inside the caliper are usually covered by little rubber boots.

That is amazingly huge suck regarding your windows! I would find someone parting out a car and get everything you need from them.

You can't lock your doors with the mechanical switch?

hmmm im gonna have to take a look at my calipers. i think i know what you mean.... plus i think i need new gaskets for the little cylinders anyways so my calipers are prob. messed up inide too...

but ya it sucks real bad not having door controls or anything for windows... i can lock the doors by pushing the lever but since all the electronics are fried i cant really unlock them from the outside since there isn't powr to assist in turning the key

You should be able to get rebuild kits for your calipers from Lithia inexpensively.

If you're getting resistance when trying to turn the key you might want to squirt some WD-40 in there. There is no power assist.

It comes with all the rubber seals that you need to be able to rebuild the caliper. You should be able to find directions on how to do it in the BGB.
