HELP: 5sfe pic... anything wrong?

Ok, Basically..
I sold my 91 turbo. Im looking at buying an 93 N/A.
The car is a few hours away so im wanting advice before making the drive.
149k miles on the odometer: I notice the motor isnt clean, but I was wondering if this is just a simple valve cover gasket or if you would have any exlanation for that stain on the valve cover?

The price isnt bad at all. Im just wanting to see what Im getting into.

Honestly the best way to figure out the leak is getting your head in there in person. From the picture i would say yes, the valve cover gasket has a leak and that distributor cap looks a little soaked in oil. so your looking at a new valve cover gasket and possibly a new distributor seal kit which you might as well by the whole distibutory repair kit. The valve cover gasket can be sourced at your local autozone and distributor kit at kbox

Phoenix pretty much has it covered. It wont be a huge concern to replace a few gaskets so don't let that stop you from buying it. More important would be to see how well the car runs, while you check it out might as well do a compression test on it too.

the oil that is on the valve cover is coming from the PCV valve. but i would change the valve cover gasket too, so you can look inside the engine and see how bad it is.
