Tach is "jumpy"

Soooo... my speedometer doesnt work at all. Second half is broke off on the tranny(?) Need to fix that... but any ideas on why my tach kinda... 'jumps' its reading about right but it kinda jumps up rather than a smooth sweep.

I would also like to know too because I'm having the same problem. The speedomotor will fluctuate when driving. Let me know if you find out a solution
