its smoking bad because piston rings in 2,3,4 have not sat correctly.. I spaced the gaps away from eachothe but the rings are not scraping the walls... im gonna leave the chambers filled with mystery oil to see if the rings will expand.. if not tearing it apart again... but it starts and idles and revs really mean.....

sooooooo something has seemed to go wrong during the build.... The dam thing keeps smoking up a shiiit storm....... getting blowby... exhaust throwing smoke like hell, pistons are wet with oil..... some people say its the rings that need to set properly but F that ima tear it all down again and see wha the hell is wrong....

i suspect you will see some shiny bores as you either dint hone them right or didnt run it in right

Question. When you cleaned up your block , you say you honed it , was it bored also ?
The pistons that you got were they accomodating in size to what you did , likewise the rings ? Generally speaking one would have O/S pistons and get the machinist to bore and hone to measurement. Trying to get an understanding whats happened. |

very white smoke can be caused by brake fluid if the master cylinder leaks into the vacuum box it will go up the vac lines into the intake pop the vacuum line off and see if any fluid drips out at all after a few mins |

pop the vacuum line off and see if any fluid drips out at all after a few mins Na thats all new...... checked compression yesterday..cly1-170 cyl2-130 cyl3-130 cyl4-145..... im leaning towards rings.. might have been cut wrong or they got bent or the block needs re honing..... never bored the block out.. im using 3sge rev3 pistons.. standard bore size.. im going to buy valve stem seals and chage them out... and re do the rings with a friend of mine that has built a couple of 3sgte's, 5sgte, 3sge's, etc.... ill be pulling it out and apart this week so ill keep you guys posted.. |
