Throttle Cable Question. " I have searched and could not find answer"

My throttle cable is loose and i went to tighten it. The cable that runs from the junction box to the throttle body. When i was examining the cable the slack just moves through the tubing that runs from the junction box to the throttle. Is this normal? I though there was a way to adjust this but if the cable is just loose how do you do it? This has lead me to believe something is wrong with the cable? Any input would be great at this point as i am confused as all can be and i couldn't find any info in the bgb surprising enough.

That is making sense really to me? if there is still slack after adjusting the bolts on the intake manifold cable mount then it sounds like the cable is to long but that dont sound right

I know right.... The cable which looks like a bike brake has the 2 nobs one that connects to the engine and the other that connects to the junction box. The cable then has the black sleeve on it with the 2 adjustment points with the nuts. I just didn't know how these adjustment points worked? or if the cable was suppose to be connected to sleeve with the nuts on it. As you can adjust mine all your want the cable just slides in and out of the sleeve. I just didn't know if this is how it is suppose to be.....Like when i pull the silver cable it goes all the way to the junction box..Let me know it that makes sense

is where you slip it into the intake manifold and then use the nuts on each side to reduce the slack in the cable. if thats not working for you then something may be wrong with the cable. how much slack are we talking about anyway? (pic is pre engine remove bty)
