car dies when give it gas

i have a 90 3s-ge and it has trouble starting at first it will crank and crank then when it finally does start it idles at 2500 rpm then will drop to 1500 u give it more throttle and it will rise to 4000 and hesitate and if u dont play with the pedal right it will die. then all over again. car was bought from a old man who has let it set for about 8 months ive changed the old fuel out with 93 oct. replaced spark plugs and valve cover gasket and spark plug tube seals because it was leaking some oil into 3 and 4 cyclinder. what could bbe wrong with this car?

Fuel pump/filter could be clogged i used to have the same problem run some fuel inj cleaner and change the filter

ok thanks man also i have a issue with the coolant leaking out when i feel the car up with coolant it all leaks out over the top of the gas tank after the car is running. when i got the car there was none at all in the radiator. also where is the fuel filter located on these cars. im mechanically inclined but kno nothing about these cars. i have a srt4

well my fuel filter (v6 swap) if its still the stock location which i think it is if your looking at the motor to the left towards the back wall close to the shift linkage. coolant over the gas tank...weird is itt burning over the exahust..white smoke out the exhaust? check make sure your oil isnt milky , sounds like a head gasket or god forbid a cracked head if its leaking externally

nope no white smoke out the exhaust at all its leaking in middle of car. i checked the head already all gaskets are new. thanks for the fuel filter location.the coolant is coming out of a 1 or 2 inch diameter hose that runs up from the front of the car going back towards the front of the gas tank and then runs up and over the top of the gas tank and comes out the back of tank then goes down and back up and connect to filler neck lol. if u got all that. the coolant runs over the top of the gas tank like a water fall until its all out of the radiator. it totally submerges around the car when it does it. is there a hose goin up to the heater core somewhere around that area>? thanks for all ur help man

im not to sure like i said before i have a v6 swap..3vz so i have no reference or contact with a 3s but it sounds like it and im glad you dont have a head gasket issue! ive had a blown head gasket on three yoters!
