new headers

Just finished installing my new emspowered headers today, and on startup noticed a big difference in sound. A little more so than expected. Paired with the stock exhaust and Weapon R secret weapon intake its loud as hell, as if I added a full new exhaust.

Normally Id be excited, but it actually sounds like ****, so is this normal? Everything is hooked up the way it should be, I just didnt expect such a loud change, it sounds like I have no muffler at all. Maybe the problem rests in the piping size?

The stock exhaust + headers usually sounds pretty raspy. Not sure why, has to do with the OEM muffler design I guess. Adding an aftermarket exhaust usually gets rid of that raspy sound as long as it has large enough mufflers.

Also, just incase, make sure you have everything tightened down properly and don't have any exhaust leaks. It's easy to forget to tighten up a bolt or two.

Here's a couple clips of guys with headers + our exhaust on 5sfe non-turbo MR2's. I'm sure you can find lots more doing a quick search on YouTube. It's not quiet, but it definitely doesnt have that raspy sound like the stock exhaust.
