You need to pull the clip to get it off of the shock absorber. Other than that, you're going to pull the knuckle anyway, You'll need to zip tie that up so you don't break the lines.. Otherwise, I'm not certain what you're talking about -__-;;

i know what your talking about

You will actually need to cut the metal bracket holding in the brake line, pull it out, and when you put it back on, slide the brake line back into the bracket, put the clips in, and zip tie it down.

Here is a "how to" with pictures

I hate that how-to! Or at least the part that recommends cutting the brake line anchors on the strut housings.

The MR2 I picked up had that done and the brake line never locks in correctly now. It's passable, but eventually I will need to dump those strut housings for some that haven't been butchered.

The best way is to remove the line from the brake caliper and then unclip the lock on the strut housing. After that just pull the line free of the housing. If you do remove the brake lines, then all 4 brakes will need to be carefully bled before the car is roadworthy again.

i did mine easy... what i did was take the clip out then i cut the bracket. now what you do is BEND the bracket from where you cut it. heres a pic.

bend either side down and the other up. i use pliars to do that. to put it back repeat same steps backwards. put the clip back in and your done. no need for zip ties.

*crys* Poor brackets - they will never be as straight or as strong again...

That is the easy way to do it if you're not comfortable with removing the brake lines.
