Paint... well, if the car is metal, without paint it'll rust like mad and fall apart, making it... not fast, lol, so paint can stay, as long as it's on metal. |

Carpet I won't futz with other than to possibly remove it ![]() Radio helps me get to and from the track without crashing the car from exhaustion so I count that in. Haven't done anything with windows, but might tint to cut down on heat. (see prior reason.) Wouldn't mess with lights other then maybe add fogs (that way I can put on my lights as required in TT without screwing up my aero). Paint helps get sponsors, no one pays for junk.

i kno u cant afford it, and I haved pestered one of the stl duece owners til he was pretty mad about not havin a turbo. However my fully loaded mr2 with leather seats, p/w,p/l,,p/m I estimate weighs in the neighborhood of 2850lbs without me. Your MR2, even with a 3sgte motor, would weigh in the neighborhood of 2650lbs before any lightening.
Plus the motor is well suited to the car, Its like the turbo is the heart of the car, it gives it a really exotic sounding engine and exhaust note and is a head turner in part just because of that whistle the turbo makes and the ability to go from a standstill to flying past someone next to you in traffic in 2 seconds is always fun. Gas mileage would probably be better for you than me, I get 20/27, ud probably see 21/28 on premium thanks to the weight reduct. a 2650lb 2.0 turbo car, is hard to come by these days and you could easily make yours faster than mine thanks to that 200lbs in reduction as well as handle better and it would be a v8 killer. Had to say it, but whatever you decide is probably right for you, especially with JDM 3sgte motors and transmissions going for $1200 |

I would just keep it stock and enjoy it. Maybe 94+ tail lights, but otherwise just enjoy it. Sometimes I wish I had left my car na and not dumped almost another 6k into my car.

The 94+ tails clean up the rear end, so that's almost a necessity. Some people don't like them, but I think they're great.
Get some OEM clear corners. I don't really like those diamond aftermarket clears. I dunno, they just don't look right. I use amber bulbs in mine for a stock appearance and to keep from getting fix-it tickets. My dad laughed at me when he saw me putting the OEM clears in, but after he saw what they looked like, he asked how much they were for his white N/A. It just makes the front end look so much cleaner and modern. An MR2s rarity will depend mainly on where you live. In some parts of Southern CA, they're everywhere. In other cities, like mine, you hardly see anyone else with one. Don't go for huge rims/tire combos that'll bog your 5S down. That limits you quite a bit. I have 225/60/14s on my rears, and I totally feel the difference from 205/60. High mileage motors suck. |

Lower the car about 2'' and get a nice set of rims. It will totally change the
look of the car.(i.e.- more aggressive ) Also I think a good aluminium or carbon fiber wing looks really good too! I know this isn't appearance related, but a good(loud) exhaust sys. is a big plus, especially with the chics! |

Do what you want imo... if you want a 93 lip and 94 wing, then go for it. If you want a full kit, then go for it. It's your car, you're driving it.
I dunno, I like having kits on my car, but then again, I rarely drive my 2's... I don't have to deal with daily driving a body kitted car. Plus, they look more unique then a stock body. Stock body mr2s aren't that "rare" in cali... ![]() If you want a clean looking kit, just get a full air walker. Decent price, clean (not to crazy from stock) and authentic(so it fits well). Front, sides, and rear is about... 1700 ish, then pick out a wing and some rims. |

The park bench kind? That is a hell no on these cars, because they look so out of proportion. I'd go with the 98+ style or the widebody wing. |

And I think there's a limit to how loud you should go with an exhaust. A loud exhaust on a slow car means you better start comming up with exuses for when fast cars want to race you. I have a straight pipe with no cat, and I wish I had something quiter. I get harrassed by every damned civic, accord, integra, and focus with an exhaust on the road. I've never recieved any more attention from girls in this car than when I drove my truck. I think it's all about your confidence. That said, if it makes you more confident to have a fart can on your car, then by all means, go get some. ![]() |

Point taken
However- you've got to admit, a tricked out car with stock exahust is just gay! A cool solution is an electric cut-out valve. I've got one on my 3000gt and its great! When its closed it sounds pretty close to stock, but with it open, there's nothing slowing that exahust down- not even a cat. My girlfriend LOVES the exahust and by the way, my encounter with her on the hood of the gt last night was anything but meaningless! Anyway, i think your car is your own work of art, and it shoud reflect your own individuality, so do what you think is cool.(as long as it doesn't involve wal-mart spinners! ) |
