Beams Website

The 3S-GE Beams RedTop website is now up. Its an informational website based on the Beams RedTop engine. There isnt too much info in it yet as we are still collecting the little bits and pieces of information on the engine. Please feel free to post any information or knowledge you have on the Beams 3S-GE that isnt already on the site or posted here so i can update the website.

I will be updating the website quarterly with information that we have gathered here in the forum. Each Thread that I make will be for gathering the information of specifics for that piece or area of the Engine and Aftermarket modifications. So if you know any info or think something is wrong, let us know!

Your input on the site is also appreciated as is any bugs you find with the site.

Please do not use this thread for any kind of debates either, start a new thread and take the discussion there.

Now that we are collecting a lot of data about the Beams, I see no reason why it can't have it's own forum.

Welcome to the board! Your english is more understandable then some of the people I know who have been speaking it their whole lives.

I'm sure the red-top crew is glad to have another member. Let us know how you like it and post some pictures when you get a chance.

On another note, Phoenix, when I am ready for an engine swap, I might need some info. It wont be for awhile as I am still trying to figure out money situations and what engine would suit me best, but I think this motor might be what I am looking for.

It would be a daily, so im not looking for crazy WHP numbers and I do not really want to deal with a turbo motor. This could change, but I will be looking forward to hearing a lot about the Beams. PS, the site you made is a great idea and I'm really interested to see what kind of things you can dig up!

RedTop, welcome to the beams forum. Were working on getting some more information on the website and finish a few cosmetic stuff with it. The forum should be up soon when i hassle the admin of the board for it.

I actually just stepped out from taking my beams apart and saw this thread, definatly glad to have you here

hello phoenix
please help me
I've seen that is possible to buy pages of the beams electrical wiring diagrams.
I need it badly. Because I've got some problems to make the electrical connection because my mr is LHD and the beams connection are for RHD. And actually I'm stop in the assembling and I don't know how to get out of it!
So if it's possible to buy the wiring diagrams, I'm sure it will help me.
Thanks

If I had the money, and the NA motor had the potential to easily make 400 HP, I'd Sooooo buy a beams... I just love the way they look, AND they're NA!

If only...

Unfortunatly, its not ready yet. It will be in about 3 weeks and available in English. PM Roman about it, he might be able to help you faster than I can.

The only thing I have is the ECU Pinout Guide

Wow that's a great redtop you have there, mr... redtop.

For whoever asked about the general specs of the redtop, here's what I've found out so far that makes it a great engine.

200hp @ 7000rpm
11:1 compression ratio
coil pack ignition
315cc injectors
7250rpm rev limit
Variable valve timing on the intake cam, alters the timing by 25 degrees (Pulley can rotate up to 60 degrees, but it only moves approx. 25)
It has an intake manifold made from pressed steel, and the intake runners have bell mouths inside the plenum.
It has mega large intake/exhaust ports compared to a gen 2 3sge
It has a twin piece baffled sump, with the oil filter relocated here (As opposed to on the block with gen 2 3SGEs)

It has sodium filled exhaust valves!
Well the greytop 3SGE engine does for sure, I cant comment for sure on the redtop.
I am currently investigating this.

The VVTI gives them a reasonable spread of torque across the band, despite being primarily designed for high rpms.

They have great potential, 195whp and 185whp have been acheived with just bolt on mods.

A guy here dynoed 170whp with a standard gen 5 SW20.

240whp is the most I've heard from an NA beams VVTI engine, however that was a blacktop altezza motor.

That's all that comes to mind for the moment, but I think they're a great engine, and have lots of potential.

I've got two, one from an MR2, and one from a celica.
My MR2 is running the celica motor (which is standard+bolt ons... engine is out due to clutch problems however, back in this weekend!) While my MR2 beams motor is back on the engine stand, and it will receive some more mods. It has a ported head + balanced bottom end, and it's been completely reconditioned/rebuilt... it hasnt been running yet!
It will probably get higher compression pistons, a cam grind, some quad throttles, larger injectors, and an ECU to run it all.

That's the long term plan, there's no rush now that I have a spare one to drive around with.

P.S. Pheonix, feel free to add any of that info to your site if you like, I've meant to email you with some updates, but havent gotten around to it yet.
