Is the a good 1/4 time?

Hello all, I'm a new comer to these boards. Just moved here from MR2OC per advise of a member here. Anyway, I had a couple of questions.

I took my 1993 N/A down to the late night drags and pulled a 16.08 with a crappy .4 reaction time. Now, I was curious if this sounds about right, good, or bad for my current setup. Here are my current mods (Setup for autocross):

164k miles on stock engine
Cone Filter
Koni Adjustables
Strut Tower Brace
Toyo Proxy 4's on 17in ADRs (205/35)

Those are the only performance mods at the moment.... like I said my car is raced in autocross more then it's raced in 1/4. Besides this list, my MR2 has the usual subs, stereo and so on with an after market body kit. What do you think?

Your reaction time has no bearing on what your 1/4 mile time is. The clock starts when you move so you could sit at the line for 15 seconds and still run a 15 second 1/4 mile. Your time seems right on for your mods. Stock is usually mid to low 16's and you're close to 15's. Not bad for a first time out.

Thanks, I was trying to figure out what these cars should be running. This is my first MKII, and my last cars were Z cars all much quicker then this little car. It is a blast in autocross, even if not too quick in the quarter mile...... now I just have to get my springs in, my new hood, and figure out how to fit a V6 into it

thats an average time.. the abnormally quick bone stock ones have hit the random 15.8, but 16.0-16.2 is more common.

Sounds good, this car has a body kit that is adding weight, as well as subs. I figure it should be about stock weight, with the spare tire and junk removed, but I'll find out when I weigh it.

I thought Road and Track had pegged Turbo MKIIs at 14.9 same as a 93 Mustang.

Also, if you want a faster 1/4 time, race on 14 or 15" wheels on the rear.

"Also, if you want a faster 1/4 time, race on 14 or 15" wheels on the rear"

Agreed.
Not just the rear though... all around.

As for published times, you really have to take them with a grain of salt (and intelligence).
Ive seen times published in legitimate magazines vary by up to a second.
Im a firm believer that a stock turbodeuce should be hitting consitent mid 14s.

But your time is pretty good for an N/A. Grats.
What was your 60' time?

I actually have a set of wheels that are 15's (or maybe 16's) that I want to put some Nitto DOT slicks on for autocross, and I'll try them out one night in drags as well.
