Found out what was knocking around in my engine bay.
Well, it kept getting worse, and for a while it had me worried, because I had no idea what it was. But a little snooping around and some wrenching and I removed the problem!
The arm on the right side of the pulle assembly had no bolt in it, and you can see where it was hitting against the motor. I think I found some bolts that are the right size in my box-o-left-over-bolts from when I put this motor in, and should have it back together sometime soon. I'll just drive around with no AC for a few days. ![]() |

Sounds more like a bad compresor or belt in your case. My problem was my tensioner bracket wasn't bolted to the motor. lol

Get rid of that stupid AC system. It weighs like 30 or 40lbs! Weight reduction time!!

This isn't a track car, just a DD.
And I like AC in the summer, and mine works and seals perfectly! |

You're in freakin Washington, not Texas. It never gets hot enough to even consider turning it on there.

In the summer it is.
I've driven around my truck with no AC in the summer, and in stop and go traffic in direct sun, it is not enough to just have the windows down. |

I'm in Michigan, which has hotter weather in the summer than Washington, and it's never been the slightest bit of a problem here. I never turn on my AC on any of my vehicles, including my daily driver Civic, even when it's 100 degrees outside. You gotta learn to tough it out!
