IAT on all NA's?

Hi guys, The only NA MR2 ive ever touched was helping a friend turbo his. my brother in law picked up an 93NA that I am helping him get back to stock condition. While going through the engine bay I noticed the airbox has a provision for an IAT sensor (hole with round rubber grommet) But there is not anything in it. the car is stock so its not lke they pulled it to do an intake or anything. I glanced around in the engine bay but could not find a loose sensor/harness. Did the car originally have one? where would it be wired into the harness if it was? thanks guys!

Probably dangling somewhere between the driver's side rear fender. The wires and connector are pretty short, so it couldn't have gone far.
