Help I got a wierd problem.

How come I get all the weird problems?

Well here it is. I recently did a timing belt.
Got it together drove it around and the car drove funny like it was a tooth off.

SO I checked the timing. I'm positive the mechanical timing is fine.
Drove it again, though it was fixed then it studdered again. THis is what happens.

After like 5 minutes the car will studder. THe tach will move. THen the car will runn diferently. ONce I was driving it shuddered then like a switch it was like I was running on 4 cylinders compared to 3. I was like this is the power I SHOULD have...

I checked my wiring. I did find some hacked wired but I made sure they were soldered and heat shrinked.

B/c my tach moves makes me think to gotto the ignition system.

I just bought new plugs, wires, cap and rotors. It could be a bad ground?

I'm just mad b/c I have been slaving on this car in this hot as balls weather and I can't figure this out.

I did get a code 43 but my starter works fine.

I'm pulling out my hair.

Doing some investigation.
First I found the neg (black and white wires) for the relays
twisted to this yellow wire. all of them grounds.

It sorta fell apart in my hands. I realized the relays were grounded b/c of the alarm. I was like YES I found the problem. AN intermittent ground.

Here is the other side.

I soldered and heat srinked everything and took it for a test.
5-10 minutes in it stuttered.

This studder happens for 2 seconds and stops.

SO it wasn't this ground. Back to the think tank.

This is a hacked up ground

The red wire goes to the bottom of the engine to this other connector I will show. The red wire doesn't belong there so I unraveled it and did the best job repairing this ground.

Now for that red wire. This is where it went. It was just wrapped around this grounding point.

Can someone show me how these points and really grounded. I'm going to make my own grounding strap and find a goo spot in the chassis. Any suggestions?

These ground repairs may not fix my problem but they make me feel better.
I'm leaning towards the distributor.

I'm still also investigating wires of the alarm/starting system.

I still have a pretty good feeling it might be the distributor.

Are both pickup coils in the distributor?

It the tach signal actually generated by the distributor?

Man I have almost tried everything.

I'm on my last leg.

I'm gonna try another ECU and maybe a MAP sensor.

Does your tach cut in rpms? DO you get a slight cut in ignition once in a while?

I'll Definately let you know what I find.

It's been a while since I have been here but all my problems come down to a wiring problem. My car had a remote starter hooked up. My STA signal was constant. My ECU though my car was in constant start mode.

My ignition wasn't advancing.

Had to fix the wiring and I was done. Runs great now. I tried to solve this problem for months and it came down to a remote starter install.

Good to hear you figured it out! Not the first time i've heard problems with remote starters.
