help pleassee...

as i was driving down the street the other day..i thought i heard a little popping sound coming from the hear..and it felt like i had a flat..lost power and it was a bumpy ride..as i was bout to pull over to the side..my car died..so i knew it wasnt a flat..luckly i lived close by so i was able to get it home when i start it up..its hesitant to start..and sounds like its running on 3 cylnders instead of four..know its very loud..shakes alot and sounds like rattling...i was thinkin maybe inside teh valves? rocker arm? or maybe ignition? cause i noticed there was oil on my sparkplugs on spots 4-3-2 but not one..i just got new spark plug wires..maybe its them? i have no clue..and i dont really want to take it to a mechanic cause my bank account is low..lol any help would be very much appriciated!

check all of your intake piping and the couplers. Maybe one of the rubber/silicone couplers popped off.

That sounds like a vacum leak but a pop noise eh?
I dont htink the couplers would do anything before the TB becuase this is a map based system...chek the hoses that go into the intake manifold itself.

Im still thinking about the whole pop thing...

did you check your hoses/couplers? I'm guessing the pop noise was one of the couplers popping off of the intake piping, it's happened to me plenty of times.

run the fuel pump itself without the starter (disable the starter relay in the trunk behind the carpet)
and get someone to listen...you might have just blowen a fuel hose....

The plug wires you got, were they from toyota?

Have you replaced your cap/rotor recently?

That's what I was thinking. If you're smelling fuel, that's the first thing you should investigate.
