Mister 2.2 I'm doing an all engine setup and would LOVE to mess with your ITBs. If you have read my posts I am trying to go high compression all motor. I am short on cash and if you still have those post on my Build-Up: 5SFE. Seriously, I am very interested. I'm just wondering how the gaskets will match up? But yeah, name a price and any other info or what you think I should do with them on my build-up post... PLEASE!

.. designed for a 600cc motor that spins 16,000 rpm. it probably sucks in more air than a 5sfe does at full tilt.

Consider the size of your TB then consider the size in area, total of your ITBs.

Well to be fair you can't make a direct comparison to normal throttle body because the cylinders take turns using it. That being said, from everything I have read, you will get the best flow when your runners tapper down 1.7-2% to an area that is about 80% of the combined valve area. That is the most restrictive place in the intake tract so it makes sense to build everything else to help flow air through it. In a stock 5sfe that is about 42mm diameter at the port and 45-50mm at the throttle bodies depending on how long your runners are.

If you really want to do it right you need to take your max rpm and size the valves for that then build everything else to match.

the valve angle and port shape play a lot into it as well, just because your valves can flow at 9000rpm doesnt mean the head will we've got a pretty nasty short side radius.

So do all the F series heads but some of them rev quite nicely. My point is that you have to port the head to match the valve size and carry that all the way up the intake runners or ITBs if you are shooting for every little bit of extra power.

Id def like to see some dyno numbers from your new setup.

And Id like to be inline for the ITB's... I dont want to do a swap on my mint 93... and have been looking for a new alternative to making the car some more fun and keep me from selling it.

Yeah, I'm kinda slow at getting things done on my car. This post was from a year ago. lol An update though, I have the cams (Webcam 793 grind) and I have a Megasquirt put together and partially working and I have an SMT6 running now on the car. I am also building a new set of headers and an intake manifold to match my setup. I hope to have some dyno numbers in the next few months but knowing me it will be spring before all this stuff gets done.

I don't mind handing out the ITBs at all, they were given to me for free and I promised I would pass them along to anyone if I could not complete the project. I'm still up in the air if I want to do it or something else.

I just want to know who I'm sending them to, somebody that has all the other mods done and wants to finish it off with the set. You have to understand it is not a bolt on application, by a long shot.

Mrturrari do you think you would use them?

They don't really fit into my plans for this motor. Maybe someday if I build a strictly NA 5sfe. I am curious about their size though? I know it was Micah that originally was planning the build and he had some very interesting ideas.

So mister2.2 does that mean you are not going to let me have them since I am in the process of building my engine up? Thats not cool, but whatever. Let me know if you will or will not let me have those, since you never said yes or no.

He's got the right to give them to whomever he pleases. Maybe instead of giving him a hard time about it you could find out what he's looking for that he's not seeing from you and see if you can satisfy those objections.

It's really cool what you're planning with your motor and I look forward to hearing how it goes. I can see how he might have concerns though. You said yourself that you don't have much bank to throw at the project right now. It'd suck if they just ended up part of an engine stand monument for years.
