1969 VW Bug 84,000 Miles 1-owner

This one owner car, is truly the little old lady's car. The little old lady happens to be my Great grandmother. She just recently has moved to an adult care facility so would like to sell her car. I now have the car in my possession so if you need pictures or whatnot let me know.

-Within her owner's manual I found the original purchase sheet from 1969. She has records of all work done to the car (though it may take some time to locate this as she just moved).
-This car has been garaged or parked under cover all its life.
-This has been in her care all it's life, except for a brief period when her grandson used it for a short time in college.
-It was repainted around 2000.
-It has been reupholstered.
-She JUST bought new rims and bumpers. (some photos will show the old ones, as I haven't taken pictures since) The original rims were slightly rusted (seen in some photos) which I'm told is common. Unfortunately, these rims are now gone. Still have the old bumpers.
-New Running boards. Still have the old ones.
-I was also told to take a look inside of the wheel well for rust, which there is none. I have photos of this as well
-Currently it is insured as a collector's car and can only be driven 1,000 miles a year.

The last photo shows the new rims, running boards, and bumpers.

I'm not certain of what else is most important, and I'm certain I've left some things out. Feel free to ask questions, and I will do my best to answer them.

Insurance has placed a value of $16,000 on it, which is what she is sort of clinging to at this point.

I'm not certain exactly what it will go for but this is what she is thinking. She says she'd rather keep it if it's not going to go for around what she thinks. Keep it for what? I have no idea, but she's a strong old woman.

OMG! That car is BEAUTIFUL! Wish I could buy that from you.

That thing needs to be treated like a piece of historical treasure.

You should sell that at an auction or something.

Wow..that's pretty rare...84K!!!! Its getting hard to find an MR2 with that many miles. I love the interior.

Thus far the best idea was for it to be sold to a VW dealership or something like that.

YES! Exactley! Contact some VW dealers and see if they'll buy it from you. Any owner of a VW dealership would love to have that in the showroom.
