WTB:Header & some questions

well whats wanted to buy is a workable header for as cheap as possible, cause it seems my cat on my stock header has gone to shit, so a respectable header from a respectable company would be nice, do our cars usually pass emmisions without that cat?

That would depend on your local laws, I have no clue what they are in HI.

I bought the OBX header on eBay for $210 shipped. It had everything you needed, and I'm very happy with it. I bought mine for the same reason, would've done it sooner though.

It bypasses the cat so you probably won't pass a visual inspection nor the hydrocarbon (HC) inspection.

The intake is an Injen intake made for a 97-01 camry 4cyl (5S-FE). i just flipped it over so it would clear the radiator hoses. The filter i have is made by ZEX Nitrous. The internals are the same of the A'PESi filter but has a built in jet for N2O. I would suggest buying that from ZEX, it's only $50 shipped and they have 3 different sizes.

I'm happy with the sound on the factory muffler. I straight piped it for a while to see what it sounded like. The low RPm sounded horible but when you rip it after 3500 it ROARS! I wish people posted pictures when I ask questions like that, it helps. Good luck.

I have posted numbers on my header from ssauto and have had no problems. 9.6 hp and 4.3 foot lbs of torque. $125 on e-bay. Tell them Patrick Waddell sent you to them if you order one.

http://www.mr2board.com/forums/na-5s...headers-3.html

post #32 It is similar to the obox design.

DYNO NUMBER WITH JUST HEADER INSTALLED 4-1 design like Obox

They also have a new 4-2-1 design I have now and I like it better, but haven't had it dyno'd yet. It runs $275 and if you nessage me with you e-mail I'll have them contact you directly.

No, doubt it will be any time soon either. Winter is coming in quickly so there's no real point in putting it on the road anyhow.

hey quick question guys - when you had your stock exhaust / cat housing - did your car always sound kind of like it had an exhaust leak from the engine compartment?? Mine does and I found the cat has been hollowed out but no leaks? Just curious.

When installing a header - doesn't the secondary o2 sensor trigger a code / check engine light?? How is everyone getting around this??

I am in almost the same situation. My stock header is cracked and I need a replacement. I was looking at the ssac one. 91-95 MR2 Headers 18-20 HP Super 5SFE 4-1 Design It is extremely cheap.

EMSPowered also has some exhaust options for both turbo and NA IIRC.
