Oil Leak Question
Okay, so I've always had a small leak in my oil pan it seems. I usually run 10W-30 and the leak isn't all that bad.
However, since it's been really cold out recently I switched to 5W-30 this oil change and the leak seems to have intensified. Physics would dictate that this is normal. Do you guys agree? |

the leak increasing has more to do with the colder weather shrinking your engine metals causing bigger gaps for leaks. you've got aluminum, steel, and iron all contracting at different weird rates.

Well whatever, I'll just cover the engine in RTV.
That'll work, right? ![]() |
