Camshaft Specs. KK285W Grind. TED

I have picked up Toyotafan1970's NA 5sfe project motor. His basics look well thought out. Too bad he had to give it up.

The cams (the pair)are TED Components KK285W regrind. Does anybody know the specs for that grind?

I want to keep track of everything that goes into the motor and I don't have the cam specs. Your help appreciated.

If I can get some rod bolts, assembly can begin.

13.98 NS 5sfe or bust. Nil Desperandum.

wesnemo, where in PA are you located? What are your plans for the build, are you doing ITBs?

Shimric, can you actually start posting something useful or just stay in OT?

I've tried to email Ted through the vendor link but the emails keep bouncing.

No ITBs. It will either be a bored 5sfe throttle body or a 7mgte. I need to do some junkyard groveling before I decide. I'm tending toward the 5sfe because it will be least disruptive of stock appearance. I'm up in Northeast PA, Stroudsburg area.

Stroudsburg is not far off. I am in the Bloomsburg area, little town of Danville to be exact. Why not do the ITBs, any particular reason?

Dead giveaway when the hood is popped open. More tuning issues to set up. Once all the other kinks are worked out, if I have energy remaining . . .

who knows?

ive still seen no convincing argument that itb's is any better than a single throttle manifold.. in my eyes, its 4 restrictions in the small runners instead of one in the big plenum. the stock manifold is definitely a problem, but i dont know if itb's is necessarily the answer.

plus its bloody loud. sounds awesome, but its a real screamer.

I can't seem to get an email through to Teds. I've tried through the vendor link on the board and on the website. Anybody have a suggestion.

I don't see it as being a restriction, they are larger than the runners and the total area is more than the single TB. I like that it's loud.

TEDS Components Lives!

If your emails to TEDS have been bouncing its because the email address in the link is AFU. The actual email address is info@tedcomponents.com. Just talked to them by land line.

They do 5sfe cams. They can make an adjustable cam gear setup for 5sfe.

I didn't ask about cams because I picked up Toyotafan 1970s NA project that had TEDS regrinds. They're sending me the specs so I can keep track of my mods.

They can make an adjustable cam gear for the 5s for about $250. They'll modify the stock one.
