Standalone EMS
I am currently lookin for a standalone EMS. I have been doing research and have found that the MegaSquirt is very popular among the do-it-yourself guys. I'm just wondering if there is anybody that is currently running one of these systems on their 5SFE. Thanks in advance.

Haven't tried a 5sfe , but we did install one on a 4age couple days ago. Everything is working alright cept for we cant get it to read the O2 correctly. It runs ok, more tuning to do.

i have one on my 336 WHP, 1997 neon.
the MS doesn't like to read the factory o2, so you'd be better off getting a wideband O2 sensor (LC1 from innovate) or any of the other good wideband companies AEM, XS etc. you also have to have the wideband controller to talk to the MS, the O2 by it's self won't communicate this the MS. and then you have to program the wb controller properly, so it knows what signal to send to the MS. i hope this helps |

The trigger pattern for a 5S is different than all the engines listed here, and it even varies year-to-year. If you are going to persue the MS route, find someone who has successfully gotten this motor to run via that EMS.
