cold air intake for 5s-fe
has anybody ever found a smog-legal cold air intake for a 5s-fe?? i have a 91 with the 2.2l 5s-fe and i need an intake thats carb approved. any suggestions?

I'm not sure why an intake would need to be CARB approved unless it changed the MAF or any other intake sensing/fuel regulating equiptment... which intakes don't.
I have one for sale with an HKS filter that has a port for the intake air temperature sensor (the only sensor on the intake until the throtle body) |

^ the airbox contains the air temp sensor. since an intake relocates that, it needs carb approval. you really cant change anything, legally, on a 5sfe.
theres no carb legal intakes, and theres a 99.9% chance there never will be. |

not sure but i do know its a lot easier to buy a cheap one and just swap the other out for when you have to smog. Doesnt take more than 20 mins. Even then a cold air intake doesnt do much benifit because our stock airbox picks up air from the side vent and you cant get much colder tha that. A good air filter in the box is good, But if you want it for the sound get a cheap ebay one and swap it once a year
