Squeaky Engine Noise
after washing my car and engine I heard a loud screeching noise coming from the engine when I depressed the clutch and shifted into gear, but when I put it in neutral and let out the clutch the sound went away. Is this normal? Has this happend to any of you?

Acc. belt got wet, should dry up and go away....if not tighten it up and then replace the belt if it shows any wear.

ohh ok thanks. I bought my mr2 about a month ago with 70,000 miles on it and I don't think the timing belt has been replaced since it was first bought, should I replace it now? How long do the belts last?
