I have been looking at Megan racing exhaust didn't like how they angled the muffler. I was planning to buy a muffler from KO racing but I can't decide what size to get they offer 4", 6" and 7". I just want it quiet at idle and loud but not too loud to get pulled over when I get on it. What do you guys think ?

dear god dont put the pos megan exhaust on your car
id be embarassed to drive around with that thing!if you have headers the 7 inch ko is very loud. if you dont it sounds good, but its still fairly loud. you shouldnt consider the smaller cans for a second.

Sorry if I was thread jacking! I was also wanting to upgrade my exhaust to a full cat back but the only thing i'm worried about is passing emissions when removing the secondary cat. Will I be able to pass if I still have my stock primary cat on there?

Check on your state laws. If you go to a hole in the wall smog shop then yea you probably will get by. Just have to pass the sniffer. The visual might get ya though.

On my JDM MR2 with the 3SGE, I had a 5Zigen muffler made for the turbo car custom-fitted to my car. At first glance it looks just like the stock muffler but with larger tips. It performed really well and sounded great. Not too loud and maintained a nice, low pitch in the midrange. I wish I would have kept it.
I checked 5Zigen's website and I didn't see them anymore but I have some pictures at home that I'll post so you can check it out. Scott |
