it cant be the oil dipstick cuz it should be on the right side of the header? correct? and in another pic the oil dipstick is right next to the header, and its yellow....

oh oh...the other orange one is my trans fluid dipper. I have an auto trans so you may have never seen that before. Buy the yellow one is the oil dipper.

And if you see I'll never be able to get the oil filter off without cutting it in half.....I'm going to get a filter relocation kit. I put it on before the headers went in.

I say clean up (remove all rust) and paint/powdercoat/ceramic coat your headers and exhaust. That will stop it from rusting.
And then you can heat wrap it after that. But whatever you ceramic coat, you shouldn't need to heat wrap. |

Don't quote me on this, I'd find a better source, but I believe there are high-temp spray paints available that will be durable enough for exhaust. But I'd find a more definitive source than just myself, becuase I'm not entirely positive.
Just make sure you get *all* the rust off first. Or else you're just gonna be stripping, cleaning, and painting again within a few months. |
