advanced timing vs ignition timing??

hello is there a difference in advanced timing and ignition timing? or are they essentially the same thing just different term. and is there any harm to the car in turning the timing to 14 degree on my 94 na??

theres cam and ignition timing. you cant advance the cam timing, so 99% of the time people talk about timing, its ignition.

i ran mine at 15 degrees for a couple years, on 87 octane. it would ping every now and then, but it never caused any damage. theres quite an increase in power.
