I have heard of people using those. As long as it is from a gen2 3sgte I am pretty sure it will fit.

it will fit, only on an mr2.
although a bracket may be in the way on the passanger side of the manifold. celica guys have to cut a corner off to make it fit. |

Well drain the oil first. If you see metal in the oil, you'll probably have damage to the journals. If not, it wouldn't hurt to check the rod journals for damage before you scrap the engine. You could still get away with new bearings if everything else is okay.

How much do 5sfe go for? Because that crank will need a grind trust me and it may be cheaper to get a used motor rather than rebuild the old one with a crank grind and oversize bearings.

Yeah, what Jason said. It won't hurt to have a look. And although it is usually cheaper to get a used 5sfe it's not as nice as knowing your have new bearings and have checked all the clearances to make sure they are in spec.

You can probably pick up a new motor for around $500, then change up all the internals and slap the turbo kit on it and your good 2 go
