is it possible to

hey do you guys know if its possible to remove the alternator if you drop the axle out. i really dont want to have to take my exhaust off considering how hard my turbo exhaust on the other car was. the bolts look so rusted and i dont want to battle that battle until i get a replacment exhaust.

If you remove the cruise control you can squeeze it out through the top. Just remove the alternator from the mount and move it aside. Pull the mount out the top and then the alternator out the same way. Wayy easier than dropping the crossmember.

Just did this:

yea

yea i did just that. i was just so cold from the dam weather i was being tired of sitting under the car. but when it warmed up it took like 15 mins to take it out. i guess patience really is a virtue. now i have a new problem. my idle bounces up and down when i sit still. thought it was a vac leak but i dont think so anymore. i will have to see how it runs when it gets warm again outside.
