WTF
$800 is a rip off. I can get a junkyard tranny for $90,cables under $20, ecu can't be more than $30 so i'm thinking about $200-$250 for everything.

theres plenty of AT swap write ups, you dont need harnesses or ecus.

man you're talking a bunch of crap and you dont even have the mounts?

it shakes a LOT at idle.. and shakes during acceleration.. and deceleration.. and at cruise, and wot.. and, well it always shakes, a lot.

i had them for 2 years before i removed them.. so yeah, they're broken in.

Use boat rollers for mount inserts. They cost a lot less and are just as uncomfortable

Ive had them in every car i've owned up to this point. Before that I used hockey pucks. I dont see how offering my experienced opinion is "talking crap" But it's whatever I guess.

I guess running them in a drag rabbit with a .286 cam, a built all motor single cam civic, 3 11 second supras, Ion Redline, g60 swapped and cammed 86 jetta, Vr6(want to talk about vibration) Corrado, cammed b16 swapped CRX, or a built 383 Nova wouldnt count as experience?

Solid motor mounts are a "bad vibration". Like I said, I'm biased, or not a ***** one of the two (just messin with you man)

I noticed very little vibration at anything other than idle after I put them in the mr2 yesterday. My offer for a spoon and a waterhose still stands

no it still lets the motor move around, just not as much. Apparently the vibrations arent worth it however :P

Drew
i had a full roll cage and 600+ lbs coilovers in an mr2.. you know how much of that experience translates over to street cars? absolutely none.

cliff notes: guy has a broken car and 200 dollars... and you're babbling about engine mounts. lol priorities.

the truth is.. ive done all the typical mods. ive had the intake, exhaust, headers, poly mounts, wider/lighter rims and tires.. stripped interior, strut bars, this and that.

.. and ive tracked it at every step along the way.. then i removed all that stuff, added 10lbs of sound deadening and tracked it again.. times were damn near the same, sometimes faster stock and quiet. the only REAL difference was the other 300 days a year im daily driving the car, its so dramatically more comfortable without all that crap. the few days a year i hit the track, its really not slower and im STILL killing guys with the gutted interiors and rattleboxes because i can drive a little better.. and then theres still guys who are even more stock than me who are killing my time because they can drive even better..

some people just like modding cars.. actually most people here do, they park them in the garage and tear them apart for years just to mod them.. i actually drive mine and have realized that loud or quiet, +10hp or -10hp, the tangible difference in real, measurable performance is very very little, yet the difference in comfort is very very big.

*most* of us have registered street cars. most na people typically only have one car, and its the mr2 that they drive daily. track cars, or even competitive autox cars are a COMPLETELY different story.

anyone who think its a car droning at 80hz on the freeway for an hour is enjoyable is lying to you.

Have you got a good stereo, if no buy a good one off ebay, if yes buy $100 worth of music storage and/or music and enjoy it. Accessories like fog lights are good to.

I've got the poly mounts front and rear on my gen3 turbo, got them about a year and a half ago. It really don't hardly shake at all. You can feel it some when I rev it up not a whole lot. The biggest annoying thing to me is just the sound. I do have to agree with tom though. I'd rather have a smooter car that might be a tad slower than a jerky loud one that runs .1 faster 1/4miles. Its just not worth it. To the OP, I'd just put it in the bank or fix any broken interior parts. Just the little things. Thats all I did when mine was n/a.
