Old motor mounts VS Twosrus Inserts.

Anyone got a video of the before and after engine movement?

my mounts are dead and I'm going for that race car feel so the vibrations aren't going to bother me. I'm looking forward to these inserts and am curious as to how much it's going to hold it down.

that one was just to show you hot to install them. not the difference before and after. plus, he used the additions, not whole new inserts.

BTW, anyone know of an easy way to get the old inserts out?

I know they are good, but I'm trying to find out HOW good, plus he was using the addons, not the full replacement.

I have the twosrus.com inserts and they're fantastic. Real easy to install - they come with instructions. You just need a hack-saw to remove the existing rubber. Real simple process. The end result is the motor doesn't budge when reving. Very nice. There will be quite a bit of vibration that gets into the cabin at idle, though. It's not a problem for me, personally. By the way; if you're buying stuff from twosrus you may as well buy the bronze shift bushings too. They're cheap, easy to install and are a huge improvement considering.

buy kirk mounts. they have zero movement, and kirk is a fantastic guy.. a real enthusiast and solid, reliable business man.

id MUCH rather have new stock mounts, theres nothing to gain from rattling your engine.. but if you're going to do it anyway, get kirk mounts.

Well I cut the rubber out to get it out of the way - but what you're really going for is the thin, metal insert that the rubber is attached to. Once you cut that in half all of the rubber will slide out of the bracket in one piece. Like I said - real easy. Hard to describe without pictures, but they're included with the instructions.

Took me a half an hour - but I already had the mounts out because I was in the process of doing my engine swap.

And it's true; rattling your motor certainly won't give you any performance gains - but with all due respect, that's not what poly mounts do.

The less your engine twists under acceleration - the less energy is lost in that process. You will get more power to the ground. The disadvantage is that all the vibration that is normally absorbed by softer mounts will be transmitted into other parts of the car more easily.

as long as it doesn't tear the car apart, I'd be happy. I'm just tired of not feeling my motor at all, plus the fact that when I launched at 4k RPM my motor hit my firewall (I'm pretty sure that's what it was.)
