Well I know that my throttle valve is quite worn and air leaks past it, like almost all the way around it. You might wanna check yours out too, although since its erratic in your situation, that doesnt sound likely to be your issue

I replaced my ISCV and it dropped to 750rpm. It would make sense to replace something that basically controls the idle speed. Those things are like 16+ years old, just cleaning them out isn't going to do the job. With all that crap blowing back into the intake it's only a matter of time before it clogs again. Your best bet, if I were you, I would replace it, then do a breather reroute. Actually I did do that when I had my 2. Never had a problem with idle.

Uh, Don't make me dig all that up. From what my memory tells me.. (this is going to be extremely brief) Buy some rubber oil hose from autozone, buy this Craftsman air compressor purifier (look on sears.com) Instead of the oil blowing back into the throttle body it'll blow into the filter. You can just empty it out every now and then.
Again, it's been years since I've talked about this, but that's the gist of it. Basically like this... Buell Motorcycle Forum: Archive through April 05, 2009 Yea, it's a bike, I can remember that because I have it on my buell. ![]() Last edited by shimric; 05-06-2009 at 09:39 PM.. |
