Why take slave cylinder off when changing clutch?

Why do you need to take the slave cylinder off when changing the clutch?

Seems like you should be able to change without taking it off.

Hardlines go to the slave cylinder. The slave cylinder is bolted to the transmission. You have to disconnect the hardlines or the slave cylinder to take the transmission off.

+1... Or suffer bleeding the clutch if you don't... Its easy but a pain at the same time bleeding the air out of that sucker if you take the line off and not just unbolt it from the tranny.

The good news is which ever way you do it the mr2 is a very very easy clutch exchange. I've changed clutch in a variety of vehicles and i can have my tranny on the ground in 30 minutes ... I LOVE MR2's ( i would say i love my mr2 but see avatar((5s-gte build comming to completion this week though ... mohahaha)))

So because i am replacing the flex line and have to bleed it anyway i should just take off the hard lines?
