hey guys i need some help. im replacing my oil pump and all that good stuff on my 5s. im up to the point of taking the gear off the crank. not the pulley for the alternator/ac but the timing gear behind it. this thing is frozen on there. shouldnt this just slide right off? theres not really anything to grab on to to pull and i dont want to use channel locks and tear up the gear that i will re use. I had a hell of a time removing my crank pulley/ balancer off as well. possibly tapered crankshaft snout? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Normally they just slide right off. That is all the love that goes into owning a MR2 - we've all been there

the crank pully? use a crank pully puller. they never just slide off! (ideally they would, it doesnt happen though)
