Can you tell me what is causing this?

ok so while i was messing with my front brakes i noticed on both sides that there is a small patch on my strut tower that is clean like it is rubbing aginst somthing but i cant figure out if that is it or if its something else. the picture is just one i pulled off the interenet and circled about where it is on my strut since im at work right now ill get an actual pic up later. o yea and i checked the inner side of both tires and they dont look like they have rubbed on anything. thx

your tire is rubbing your strut.

Well since you have a picture of your struts/springs...what color are stock springs? black I would assume? how would you tell TRd ones from non TRD ones other than ride height.

its fine, dont worry about it. maybe you have .01 degrees more camber than you should, or running a couple psi low. maybe its deflecting a tiny bit while cornering and marginally rubbing. no big deal.

ride height, struts, and springs dont change the distance from the tire to the strut housing.
