Help doing head gasket job!

Ok so this is my first time doing a head gasket job & im stuck on the exhuast mani fold, it has a striped nut on the very bottom where there is 3 nuts.how do i remove it? fyi im not much of a mechcanic. help plz & if you have a write up on the fourms send link

yea... stripped bolts are the worst... try the vicegrip

those 3 rust and break frequently.. try the normal pb blaster and vice grips.. but when that fails just cut it off with a hacksaw or grinder. a dremel might even cut it in a pinch (you'll use tons of cut off wheels)

Ok about the striped nut im going to pay someone to cut it with special tool but im kinda low on money,so how much does it cost to resurface the head? & my car has 210,000 miles im sure it has to be done.whats a reasonalbe price for a machine shop to charge me?

if you can find a good cheap shop 40 with no tax. thats what mines cost and they did an awsome job

i was paying 60 bucks to resurface AND reinstall all my valves and seals.. i can install valves, but for that price some other poor bastard can deal with it

that shop closed, i think the one i used after was 70 or 80 bucks.. still reasonable. it was an extra 20 buck charge for installing the valvetrain, which i gladly pay.

oh yeah! about striped bolts, be creative. use any tool you have to get it off. like say if you have a 14 sized bolt and its striped, use a 13-12 and bang it into the bolt and it should becomes snug enough to take off with pb plaster. thats how you do it. if all fails, use a hammer and a big philphs screwdriver.

if you know someone with an acetylene torch heat them up and they come out very easy use caution you are near the gas tank
