Holy crap that is close. Well, it looks like your options are: 1. See if it is just stuck open on the dent. (hopefully) 2. Get a stock DP setup 3. get an oil filter relocation kit.
I need to know if you want that cat today or tomorrow. I will be meeting a guy at a MR2 meet sunday to pick it up. |

ok so i FINALLY got a chance to relax a bit and work on the two. everything seems good as far as my oil filter-dp-clearance issue. the 5sfte is completed and running. as good as this may seem, the ugly side has come out.
i got everything hooked up, got all of my little problems sorted out, filled it with some 93 octane and some oil and started it up. sounded like a champ, ran like a dream.......until i built some boost. still ran like a dream, but oil leaks have become my problem. it started with a leak from the oil return line. the hose i was using got crimped and busted due to the amount of pressure building up behind the crimp. got a new hose, made sure there was no crimps, added oil, and started it up. no leaks until i built boost again. this time on the oil feed line on the turbo side. somehow the hose came loose, so i tightened it and the leak was no more. added oil and tried again. thinking that i have fixed the leak to and from the turbo i drove it and built some boost.......yet again i have an oil leak......from both lines.......and the pan..... so im thinking i can tap my other oil pan for a return line, take that stupid ass black bracket off the turbo and tap some lines for braided lines and it will be fixed. does this sound like a viable idea? |

What kind of shop do you work at? (sorry a bit off topic, but usefull info so we know what you have access to.)
If you made a flange to bolt onto the turbo and welded/tapped in some AN fittings, that would be best. threaded fittings work way better than hose clamps, in most cases. 3an/4an is good for the feed and THINK 10an is what you want for the return. |

Make sure you are pulling vacuum at the crankcase at all times. That means the hoses for the vent by the distributor and the one to the valve cover must be coming from the intake pre-turbo. Block off the ends that come from the TB stock. If you have boost getting into your crankcase it will gush oil from every place it can including through the turbo seals.

Sorry no pics but there should only be two hoses and they will be ~3/8" and connect to the head and valve cover. What most do is install a fitting into their intake pipe, put a catch can connected to that and the a T to go to the two locations on the head and valve cover.
