Shaking

I just put some 93 struts and springs in my 92 N/A. Had the left inner tie rod replaced, fixed a bent rim from a bad pothole, had the front wheels balanced, and the whole car aligned at the local Brake check. But when i reach highway speeds it shakes like crazy!!! can anyone help me out? any ideas?

I noticed the shakes right after i installed the 93 suspension. It was slight, but after all the rest of the work it got worse. help me out please. Thanks guys

were the struts you installed new or used?
it is highly possible that the "local brake check" did a crappy job of either aligning the car or balancing the wheels, or both.
if i were you i would go back to the shop and tell them about the issues you are having, then see what happens from there.
good luck dude.

they were used, and yes i think i'm gonna go back to the brake check and get it redone.

The struts were used but in better condition than mine were in. i had a completley blwn left one and a messed up right one.
which did not cause any shaking though.
interesting.

sounds like they screwed up your wheel balance.

Sound like a screw up job. I had similar experience, took the car back for a check up and found out the wheel wasn't properly balanced. They said one of the weigh piece fell out from one of the front wheel. After they fixed that it was perfect.

BTW, the shock should not have much affect when you are travelling on the highway because the road is smooth. Only on the bouncy road that you will notice when the car suspension was not balanced.

Check your Front bushes and sterring because they are the major cause of violent shake on high speed.
