parts hunting for 3sge
I cant seem to find parts online, im rebuilding a 3sge mr2 in kuwait and i cant find any parts locally, im trying to get all the gaskets for the engine , oil pump, water pump, timing belt and possibly thinking pistons and valves, oem is good but wont complain bout upgrades
does anybody know a good website for getting this stuff online? all the wesites i found seem to stock just 3sgte and 5sfe parts. i have to source my parts from the usa thought, european websites are a bit of a hassle here. but if its impossible to get the parts from a us based site i can try sorting out getting em from somewhere else.. thanx for any help, this is my 2nd mr2, my last 1 was a aw11, hear good things bout the sw20 tho... idk if the aw11 can be topped tho? |

tried getting em from toyota here, but parts for anything older than 10 years are damn near impossible to come by, the only thing they had in their computer was the timing belt (everything else the computer insisted doesnt exsist)
but ill go check the vendors on the mr2oc thanks |

Dealerships in kuwait r tricky. They don't support older models. The mr2 was never sold in any arabian gulf country. But they don't even support the 3sge any more.
I'm told the 3sge in my mr2 is from a 94 camry. I was wondering. If a head gasket for the 3sgte will fit on the sge. Same with the exhaust manifold gasket and the intake manifold to the cylinder head gasket. I can make the other 2 intake manifold and throttle body gasket myself. I don't want to risk making the high heat high stress gaskets. I got the cyl heads off a few hours ago. And the reason for the head gasket failure was a custom made gasket. Can't find 3sge parts online much but there's plenty of support for the 3sgte. What parts can I use on my 3s. I'm planning on staying high compression natual aspiration. Thanx 4 the help. |

A good person to contact would be Aaron Willis at Lithia Toyota. Even if they don't have the parts, he will be able to find or will know someone who can get it for you. His email address is awillis@lithia.com. Josh at Chico Race Works is also a good guy to get a hold of (the_mister3@yahoo.com). Good luck!

Go to ebay home page and type 3sge or 3sge head gasket. it should pop up and the bottom with a gen 3 3sge complete gasket set for 75 USD plus shipping. oh hey! you probably have a gen 2 3sge right? show a pic of the manifold. If you have a gen 2 then contact a guy named tred on here. he's the gen 2 guy. this should put you on the fast track buddy. if he's not here to go mr2oc.com and contact him.

if you have the 2nd gen, alot of the parts are interchangeable with the 2nd gen 3sgte. if you have the 3rd gen, things are a little harder. i have the 3rd gen and have been lucky enought only to have to change the cap and rotor, plug wires, and plugs and all of that was interchangeable with the usdm 2nd gen 3sgte. most of the other stuff is not. i would call chico race works like mrjimmyx said and even tho aaron at lithia might not be able to get you everything, i know he can point you in the right direction. good luck

wires, cap and rotor, i ordered from Aaron at lithia toyota. i got the red gen 2 3sgte wires, and a gen 2 3sgte cap and rotor. they are nearly identical to the 3rd gen 3sge stuff and aaron really hooks it up. i believe it was only around $80 shipped for everything.
