Question bout 5sfe vs 3sfe
I really need to get my mr2 runnin and was just wondering the big difference in the 5s and 3s. I know it's a bit slower which doesn't bother me since I just need it running. And price difference worth it or should I just try to get another 5s in there. There's a shop that said they'll do labor and engine with water pump and timing belt swap for around 2100 jw and tryin to get options and opinions!

I don't know anything about the engines but I got my 5s put in for around $1500 and I'm in AK where everything is ridiculously expensive.

I don't think running a 3sfe in place of the 5s is a big deal. Sure you pay a performance penalty, but if the goal is to just get an mr2 up and running as cheaply and reliably as possible, then just get it.
$2100 sounds high though. |

For 2100 you could do a turbo swap! (If you do it yourself)

so getting a 5sfe with around 40 to 60k on it tmiing belt and water pump change and motor swap is to much for 2100. Mmmkay well guess I better find another place lol. I'd love to do a 3sgte swap just no knowledge of motor swaps so it'd be pretty hard with limited tools and hardly any knowledge..
